Description
At Moody Tongue, our goal is to create thoughtful, exciting beers that blend familiar flavors with quality ingredients through our philosophy of culinary brewing: using a chef’s mindset to highlight flavors and aromatics in balanced beers.

Culinary brewing rests on three principles:
1. Sourcing the highest quality ingredients
2. Understanding how best to handle those ingredients to showcase flavors and aromatics
3. Knowing when during the brewing process to incorporate these ingredients.

Brewmaster Jared Rouben draws on his culinary training to forge this connection between the kitchen and our brewery, building recipes for our beers in the same manner a chef would for a dish. Our beers are created with simplicity and balance in mind and can be enjoyed both on their own or paired with food.

Beer is our food. We look forward to feeding your moody tongue.

3$ bottle from vintage. Pour is uncontrollable foaming white, all over the place, down sides of my glass and all over my porch, balderdash! Surprisingly, the foam fades to nuttin after a minute, whatever. Somewhat neutral mild fresh cut grass nose. First taste is a little light leather with tons of bubbling co2, building up pressure in my mouth, whew. I like bubbly beer on my palate, especially the cutting kind such as this. The amount of foaming with each slug out of the bottle is quite entertaining. I'll give it an extra point on the look for this display. Except for that slight leather flavor, the beer remains quite respectable, comes across like many a macro pale lager, with its own variation in personality. Yea, not bad, quite civilized, but this stuff costs about six times more than my go to cheap pale lager, outlaw light, for about the same level of satisfaction. There you have it, straight from the pie-hole of a merikan pale lager lover.

Bottle from Trader Joe's. Pour is more of a light brown than is normal for an IPA. Sudsy but thick head. Nose has some mellow tropical fruits, there is that lime and a hint of kiwi. Taste is a good combo of hop bitterness and that kiwi and lime. Papaya is there more as an impression, as are traces of wine grapes.
