Bottle. Do I smell mild malty sweet root beer? Big and black with an alabaster top. Oh my, first taste is so strong. Its alky laced rotting fermenting cloying fruity fru fru frew. Strong it is, from the start, keeps kicken yah in day noggin. Thick rich chewy happy BS. Whewwieeee. So much beer, so little time. This is one big dizzy bottle. Scary if you drink two, hehehehhheh. Mouth coating dark charred thicker high alky exerience, feels much greater than 8% JMHO. Think; dark bitter bakers chocolate with a tad of mildly over roasted coffee all mixed with aged charred old damp partially burned campfire wood.

750 ml bottle. Dark brown pour. Small bubbly tan head. Roasted malt nose. Notes of cocoa, whiskey, coconut and nuts. Roasted malt flavor. Notes of chocolate and oak. Lots of whiskey flavor as well. Toffee and coffee in middle. Chewy, boozy notes in finish. Rich and complex.

Refrigerated 75 cL brown bottle poured into a cup. Hazy orange with small white head. Aroma is rosemary, medium body, medium carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is rosemerry and herbal hops.

Tap. A little darker than expected, nice tart aroma. Very mellow & tart on teh uptake but you can certainly tell the alky want s to build. Could be a little more civilized, and a little more tart. The alky content begins to ruin the friendliness of the beer in the middle. Tho difficult, this is much better than their uncivilized domestic regular dubbel. After tartness fades in the finish, you are left with a medicinal alky ending.

Honey and kibble nose. Hazy amber, medium head, good lacing. Kibble, hay, honey, grass. Medium body, easy carbonation. Moderately hopped for the style.

Crisp copper and bronze coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of fresh grassy, resinous and piney hops with a nice malt backbone noticeable with some light herbs and some subtle fruit notes along with a hint of grapes and more soured fruit notes. Medium-bodied; Stronger resinous hops dominate the flavour with a lot of grassy and perfumey characteristics as well show through the lighter malt flavours and ending with a touch of perfumey bitterness from the hops and light citrus elements as well. Aftertaste shows a good balance of the malt and hops with a nice complexity of bitterness and pungency from the later-developing hop side of things, all with a smooth, but manageble hop and malt character. Overall, a nice and well-structured IPA with a decidedly grassy and resinous quality in a good way with a good balance. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 09-March-2018 for US$3,09 sampled at home in Monroe, Connecticut on 09-March-2018 a few hours later with my brother & sister-in-law.
