Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours brilliant copper with a yellowish beige head. Aroma seems resin and roasty malt. Full bodied or nearly. It has a slight treacle start, which is rather overwhelmed with a lot of resin, floral, and maybe citrus. It’s a hoppy bomber. Tho it’s almost like it has birch syrup. Finishes very hoppy, nicely (tho not NW) bitter, with an ongoing sweet aspect for balance. It is extremely delicious. Not a trace of heat.

Clear golden and very light amber coloured body with a rich, thick, five centimetre tall tan head - very nice. Aroma of resin, alcohol, pine, syrup, pineapple, passionfruit and a lot of grass -nice and pungent throughout. Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour at first with a lot of grass and pine at first then a bunch of syrupy and resinous flavours tucked in with a hint of oak and dry herbs. Aftertaste shows well with a moderate level of complexity all focused around the hops and light sugars. Overall, a nice beer, a good Imperial IPA, but nothing truly special. Good all the way around! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 11-November-2013 for US$9.35 sampled at home in Washington a few minutes after returning from Italy and in need of a ’real’ american beer.

Bomber from Whole Foods. Pours a slightly dark copper color with a large white head. A big citrus nose, toasted malts, some caramel. Medium bitterness, bigger bitterness in the finish, massive resinous orange flavors, some soft pine, pretty light malt backbone. A good brew. Very smooth and mellow but big enough.

Bottle - Lots of pine, orange and grapefruit with a malt backbone. Clear copper with a bubbly white head. Resin, pine, orange and a big caramel backbone. A well balanced bitterness with a great mouth feel. A nice well balanced IIPA, but its a little dull. The hops don’t really stand out and are muddled within the malt profile.

On tap at Pap in Dec. 2013. It pours up with a clear amber sort of body that has copper hues and supports an off white head of foam. The aroma comes across filled with smooth sweet malts with malt sweetened tangelo and mango and a dash of dank hoppiness just behind. The taste is similar where it starts with smoothly sweet malts and a touch of caramel malts and then flowing into a pleasing degree of tangelo and grapefruit citrus hop flavor. To midway the hops become more resiny and bitter and are rounded out by a light onion earthy dankness. Nice but restrained and subtle for a IIPA.

Draft - Floral grapefruit hops and caramel sweetness. Clear copper with a good rich beige head. Grapefruit with upfront bitterness followed by the sweet caramel. Decent.

Nice but fairly typical West Coast IPA. Nice hop aroma, but perhaps a bad bottle that had sat too long on the shelf...seemed like the caramel malt had gone off a little. Nice but forgettable.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/16/2013. Pours slightly cloudy deep reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, biscuit, light chocolate, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark malt and light hop/hemp notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown sugar, light chocolate, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, brown sugar, light chocolate, light nuttiness, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a bit. Nice balance and robustness of dark malt flavors with light hop/hemp presence; with no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice brown ale. Good balance and robustness of dark malt flavors and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
