Bottle from the Co_Op in Davis, CA. Pours light gold with transient fizz. Aroma of fresh cut crisp green apple. Mildly sweet with some balancing skin bitter. Not at all cooked. Drinks well.

Bottle via LtDan. Why does Crispin insist on mentioning that their ciders should be served with ice on every bottle. Pours with a murky yellow body and a fleeting white head. Bubbles cling to the glass. Some light legs on the glass as well surprisingly. Aroma of apples, oak, a bit buttery, saw dust, a bit acidic. Candied fruits. Kind of sweet. Estery. A bit of a sharp whiskey character (reminiscent of Jack) as it warms. Taste. It doesn’t work very well. Flavors are muddled. Acidic and oaky with a flabby middle and a somewhat sweet finish. A bit of a Tennessee Whiskey, harsh charcoal, wood finish. Medium carbonation. Medium dry (for a real cider, super dry compared to regular Crispin products). Kind of a harsh finish. Despite all the components there really isn’t anything there; its muddled and a bit bland.

Rubber and apple aroma, with molasses overtones. Muddy ochre. Overripe apples, still quite rubbery. Nice body. Light molasses finish. Very unusual cider, doesn’t appear to be particularly well made, but I like the concept.

Bottle from the Co-Op in Davis, CA. Pours a very hazy dark amber/brown. Aromas of very ripe apple skins and treacle. Near medium body. Flavor is lightly appleskin with some supporting treacle. All very moderate - neither light nor heavy. Drinks much like a low carbonation ale. And despite the treacle the skin bitter balances. Very much worth a try. Drinks way too easy.

12 oz bottle. Pours cloudy golden orange with a touch of carbonation. Sweet apple juice aroma with a tart note and mild, but detectable whiskey aroma. Flavor is fairly sweet apple juice with spiciness, tartness, and yeastiness. Whiskey is just barely hinted at, but there is a touch of plain old wood aging. Finishes tart with a brown sugar note in the aftertaste. Lightly carbonated mouthfeel, as it appeared. Fairly nice.

bottle - Pours pale, slightly hazy yellow-green with just a few bubbles rising. It smells of honey and green apple with maybe a slight floral character. The flavor is very sweet as one would expect from a cider called "honey crisp". It’s light bodied and refreshing with subdued carbonation.

From a bomber. Smells good, sweet apple and apple peel. Looks like a witt beer with its cloudyness and all. Even has gunk on the bottom of the bottle! Nice CO2 buildup on the inside of my glass mug. Taste is rather dry, reminds me allot of the homemade hard cider I’ve brewed. I expected more sweetness as most all the other ciders I’ve tasted have been sweeter and more palatable than my homemade stuff. Alky content sure continues to stick its head up. Every swig is a nice start but becomes a little cumbersome on the swallow. Morphs from friendly to alky with each slug. Rough cider finish.

Bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA, opened 10/1/10. Pours a very dark hazy amber color with a thin fizzy head. Aroma of caramel and apples with a tart, earthy finish. The taste is molasses, apples, earthy notes and a bitter nutty finish. Medium bodied.

Hazy golden with minimal fizzy head. Sour apple aroma with a light honey sweetness. The sour apple aroma turns sweet in flavor with light honey, too. Finishes with light tart apple. Pretty decent cider.
