Healthberry Farm and Honey River Meadery

Producers of varietal raw honey, unsulfited meads and beeswax products.

At Healthberry Farm, we believe in the importance of working with nature to produce the finest products possible. Our varietal honeys are raw and come to you straight from the hive, without pasteurization or processing. Honey River meads are aged for two years so they can be bottled without sulfites. Our salves and candles are made with simple ingredients that are good for your body and the air you breathe. We do not add any chemicals, preservatives, colors or additives to any of our products, as they are unnecessary and often harmful.

We are located in the heart of the Highlands of West Virginia, surrounded by the Monongahela National Forest. Healthberry bees forage on plants in a wild setting, a safe distance from sources of toxic contamination, and are never moved for pollination services. Our practices give you an opportunity to support eco-friendly, small-scale farming while treating yourself to delicious varietal honey products made by healthy, happy bees.

Bottle at the RateBeer DC Cider tasting. Poured a dark, semi-clear purple berry juice color. Aroma was lots of blueberry. Wow. Boozy blueberry. Light boozy tartness in the finish. Touch wine, cherry.

750ml bottle pours a muddy bronze with no head. Light legs. Nose has honey, mild spice, light wood, wet paper bag. Flavor is bizarre, sweet with honey but also tart with lemon or something industrial. Feet too. Under ripened plum as well, honey and spice. Finish is beyond big. Woof.

750ml bottle at the December 2016 DC area cider tasting. Saved the bottle with the remains for later - had the following day and then a few days later. Poured a totally still light orange color with no head. Aroma was light tartness - herbal, honey and a light buttery berry character. Flavor is about the same. Heavy booze and syrup finish.

Poured a totally still amber orange color with no head. Aroma was light tartness - herbal, honey and berry character. Flavor is about the same. A touch harsh, but decent for a sipper.

750ml bottle pours a muddy gold with no head. Light legs. Nose has honeycomb, heavy flowers, dandelions and chrysanthemums, mild booze, some candlewax. Flavor is sweet, but quite earthy at the same time, honey obviously, honeycomb, some lemoncurd, hints of spice. Full, coating finish. Pretty good though.
