Poured from the tap. Clear light gold with small white head. A bit of weird artificial sweetness in the malt here with quite mild hopping. Average.

Bottle shared at BBT 05/2023. Surprisingly only med-med-full body, rather high carbonation. Med-high sweetness, medium bitterness. Only a hint of warmth, which is fascinating considering the ABV - it is hidden really well. Maltiness does not feel rich enough. There is moderate candyish caramel, med-light chocolate, med-light coffee, only light hazelnut, hints of vanilla. Good, quite easy drinking, at least relatively so. But I expect something more from pastry imperial stouts.

Aroma: coffee, lactose, cinnamon. Taste: milky coffee, nougat, hazelnut praline, bit empty in body. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, moderate bitterness. A dessert could have been excellent with slightly fuller body.

Bottle from BCL
This is very dark, near black, with medium sized beige head. The aroma is mild, some malt, caramel. It's full bodied, sweet, with a good base of malt, caramel, candi sugar; luckily it avoids the common traps for the style this part of the pond (no bubblegum etc); there is a tiny amount of celery that integrates well; it gets richer in the finish, toffee pudding; hiding the alcohol quite well.
This is one of the most enjoyable, North American Quads I ever had.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Sunny blond colour, slightly hazy (the first pour is actually very clean), with small frothy head. Aroma of malt, and jam, sweet aroma. Lean body, minimal residual sweetness contributing to the mouthfeel; they used a 'special' barley, but unfortunately the result is worse than with regular barley; there are mild vegetable notes, moderate bitterness, mild hop resins, tiny bitty pith in the finish, and some alcohol; the aftertaste is a bit disappointing.
It's decent, overall.

Slight haze. Pale. Thin head. Medium body but some plasticy ferm in there, not good. Lacks hop for an ipa. This one goes nowhere for me.

650mL bottle, pours essentially black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out burnt sugars, some Belgian yeast, bready caramel malt. Flavour had lots of burnt sugars, Belgian yeast, bready malt, and a little burnt rubber. Too burnt but the sugars are nice. Not an authentic quad but pleasant enough as a miscellaneous dark strong ale.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with light head. Aromas of bread crusts, copper, candy sugar, and raisins. Flavors follow same. A little soft compared to a typical Belgian quad but quite nice
