Philosophically-speaking, it is an odd call to revamp your flagship IPA as a California IPA (early 2000s era) in 2016 when we’ve seen successive trends towards pale malt/high fruit IPAs and then "New England" IPA. Old is new, I guess? The issue here is that it’s not all that successful, and spiritually not much of a reach from the previous incarnation of this brand. Hazy light amber. Thin head. Has an earthy hop nose, a bit on the chewy side. It’s okay, but to me this not only tastes dated but is nothing close to reaching the best that the California IPA tradition has to offer.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy dull blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of toasted grains and a dry biscuity malt base. Flavour is more robust for the style, with lots of toasted grains and dry biscuity malt. Pretty decent for what it is, but not terribly exciting.

Hazy light amber color with no head. Mild aroma, smells a bit like a wine cellar (sourish, rancid), lightly footy. Mild residual sweetness, good body strength, light fruit touch, nothing screams pomegranate, a bit lemony in the final, otherwise weak.
Pleasant.

Hazy blond color, small compact head. Delicate aroma, fruity, grapey. The light residual sweetness adds a nice touch to a spicy and fruity beer, it also has a decent bitterness; everything with grace; some honey, flowers, white grapes. It has character.
Very good.

Cloudy pale blond color, small to no head. This beer is two sided. There’s the sour beer, with a high degree of acidity, some acetic acid (maybe too much), and nice fruity touch.
Then there is something g difficult to explain, but that materializes as strong footy, cheesy character; is this malo-lactic fermentation? Is this autolysis? I don’t know, but it greatly spoils the beer; I think I encountered this in other beers that were aged in white wine barrels.
As a result, I can’t really enjoy this beer, to me this is not professional.

Draft - Lots of funky stone fruit. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Lacto and a bit of aspirin with some fruity acidity. Not sure I am getting the complexity expected, will try again in bottles.

On tap at Farmhouse Festival Vancouver, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of stone fruits, with peaches and apricots, a little kiwi and some funk. Flavour is super juicy and nicely tart, with citrus notes, subtle tartness and a lovely peach and apricot on the finish. Loads of depth and well-balanced. Excellent.

Murky orange golden color, compact head. Nice aroma, penetrating spices, coriander. The mouthfeel is quite dry but not weak; spicy yeast character, with mild banana and orange esters, moderate bitterness; the final is chalky, a bit astringent, and very lightly zesty.
Ok beer, but also a bit messy, the message is unclear.
