Bottle from the Meadery, 3/5/16. Clear yellow color, very light, almost white. Aroma is floral and a bit fruity. There's a slight medicinal quality underneath. Flavor is similar, though a bit more herbal into the close. Really bright, clean, and fresh tasting mead. Subtle and nuanced. Good stuff.

500 ml bottle from the Meadery, 2/23/16. Bright floral, honey and cactus fruit aroma. Clear orange color with just a hint of pinkness. Taste bright and clean, fruity, with a slight tanginess and a nice sweetness. Smooth and very clean feel. Just a hint of dryness to the close keeps it from being too sweet. Really impressed by this one, and I thought the cactus fruit added a really nice component.

Bottle from the Meadery. Golden color. Aroma is floral honey and a bit of charred pepper. Flavor comes through slightly sweeter than expected, with a peppery close. The pepper is not nearly as strong as the unfriendly and much more drinkable. Seems like the smoking may have made the pepper slightly sweeter and cleaner drinking. Not strong on the smoke, but overall, really quite nice.

Bottle from the Meadery, 1/22/16. Darker reddish orange in color. Oak and red wine, fairly sweet honey notes as well. Hazelnut notes. Fairly red wine-forward. Really nice overall, and I enjoyed it slightly more than the last time I sampled it.
