Almost an opaque brown color with a average Bock head. Aroma of chocolate and heavy caramel. Rich flavor of malt, raisin, and caramel fudge. Smooth finish. Tasty brew!

Hazy light copper colour. Clean, slightly bready malt notes in the aroma. The flavour is more cookie-ish, with hints of caramel and some nuttiness as well.

Draught at Brewtopia ’04 This starts off with the proper appearance of a huge frothy head and a nice cloudy yellow body. Strange aroma is somewhat bacon-like?? No banana at all here. It gets back on track with a spicy clove flavor. I didn’t care for this one. re-rate 7/18/05 The flavor and aroma was improved this time around but this time it had no head. Better flavor gets it a higher new score in any case.

Very cloudy, very pale yellow appearance. Marshmallowy sweet, with a light spiciness (cinnamon). Slightly dry and earthy. Well-made.

[draught] This beer is amazing! - dirty-blonde pour with medium carbonation and compact head - sweet aroma of light fruits and candy - a tiny hint of tartness up front, that fades away to a medium bodied, malty explosion of flavors - there are a lot of more "summer oriented" fruits here, strawberries in particular, but also cherries and a touch of pears - this beer is clean, yet chewy and malty at the same time - strawberries stick around in the finish for quite some time - excellent stuff - the best Ramstein I’ve had so far, and that includes the winter wheat.

[year after year, this beer reveals more of it’s wonders to me - subtle, smooth, creamy - perfectly balanced - the only reason this isn’t rated over a 4 is because it’s not blunt enough, IMHO] [draught] Very dark, nearly stout-like appearance - caramel and clove in the aroma - flavor has a tartness to it that takes a lot of getting used to, but once the palate adjusts, the warm flavors and caramel, chocolate, dark fruits and a touch of currant greet you - not as balanced as I expected, but good.

Dark lager with a spicy malty nose. Choclate notes in the mouth, with some of the spices and malt complementing each other. very nice beer...thanks to MBA

Looks like a watered down version of their classic wheat beer - tastes pretty much like it, to, just without the bitterness - an uneventful little beer - just slightly better than a mass-market lager.

Man, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to revisit this one - this is a huge case for rerating, because I have no idea what the problem was the last time I had this beer - cloudy dark brown, with a lasting tan head - lovely nose of clove, cocoa, over-ripe fruits, some earthy, wheaty components - manages to be light and full at the same time - a nice tartness in the flavor from start to finish - starts out with mildly acidic fruity character, which quickly makes way for flavors of chocolate, tobacco, and roasted malts - tartness lingers for a long while - a very nice beer {re-rated after many years} Murky brown - zero head - nice aroma of caramel and cloves - tastes, however, like overly bitter cloves, with a slight doppelbockish quality in the background, but not enough to make up for the bitterness - not a terrible experience, but I sure won’t buy this again.

Very dark brown (cola-esque) colour; pours kind of syrupy w/o much foam. Aroma of banana, plum, dark malt, industrial cheddar; oily, viscous body; on the palate dark fruits overlay smooth, sweet malts (like what an all-malt Peruvian black beer would taste like) with fruits (peach, plum, banana). More dark malt than usual for the style but it isn't roasty at all.
