Description
Ruddles Brewery was a brewery in Rutland, England. The brand is now owned by Greene King who still brew beers under the Ruddles name in Suffolk, although the current recipes are not those used at the original brewery.

Ruddles became owned by Watneys in 1986, and then Grolsch in 1992, it was sold to Morland & Co in 1997. Morlands moved production to Abingdon only for that site to be closed by Greene King which took over Morlands in 2000.

An amber beer with no head. The aroma is slightly sweet and fruity. The flavor is of a good malt sweetness but a little flat. An OK ale.

[Cask at Cockney Pub] A dark orange beer with no head. The aroma is very faint with fruity notes. The flavor is very nice; sweet, fruity, casky and very bitter from a great hop. The bitterness lingers on the tongue. A great beer that invites to another pint.

Bottled. Reddish amber, average head. Nutty aroma. Dry and medium bodied. Fresh, soft and fruity with salty, really bitter finish. Not complex, but plain and very enjoyable.

smooth, nutty and flat. what i look for in an english bitter. this one has a great medium-heavy body. The hop taste is just gravy. had this one on draught though. probably why i liked it so much.

Reasonable appearence for an ale (but it is suppose to be a wheat beer). For my money it tastes like a chemically enhanced ale, rather than a wheat beer.

Pleasant, palatable brew. For a full nights beer drinking it is what you would require. The aroma is strange though.
