About
2005 saw the acquisition of Jennings Brewery by Marston’s PLC.

In 2009, the Cockermouth floods had a huge impact on the business and the site, forcing Marston’s to implement flood safety features and barricades throughout the site. A few short years after the floods, brewing transferred out of the town and a mass rebrand occurred.

Marston's retrained ownership of the brewery (through Carlsberg UK) until it closed its doors in November 2022

Bottle picked up from Morrison’s minehead. Mostly clear golden / light orange coloured pour with a thin lasting off white head. Aroma is semi sweet grains, grassy, marmelade. Maybe a slight bit diacetyl on the nose. Flavour is composed of nutty grains, straw, woodland berry, hedgerow. Palate is semi sweet, spritzy carbonation. Grainy. Solid bitterness.
