330ml bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and minimally fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of malt lozenge, a bready touch, toffee, overtones of red berries. Taste is rather watery, minimally metallic, fruity hoppy and caramel malty, diluted hints of malt lozenge, a touch of read berries, leafy overtones.

Bottle. Dunkel? Nor really, dark amber, I’d say. Chocolate and caramel in the malt aroma and flavor. Nutty, hints of roast and pear. Quite pleasant beer.

Bottle. Orange blonde, hazy. Just a hint of tangerien in the aroma. Sweetish flavor with tangerine and oineapple. Pleasant, thirst quenching, but lacking character and complexity.

500 ml can from the Kalea Advent calendar. A day late on this one. Aroma is crackery, grassy, floral. Pours lightly hazy golden with a one+ finger bone-white head with decent retention. Taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, with some grassy/herbal hop character. Good.

Super crisp golden and straw coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of grass, hay, light biscuits and a dose of unfinished yeast. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal hops show with a touch of a very perfumey and fresh hop bite, especially towards the end, without much bitterness, just the grasses. Aftertaste shows a very dry and grassy flavour with some hay and bread noticeable towards the end as well, but not much else - and definitely no astringency or pungent bittering flavours. Overall, a pretty unoffensive beer with a lot of dry and herbal notes with some perfume and a nice and almost sweet hop flavour towards the end. Good to sample and a crisp and well-rounded pilsner with a softer finish that makes it a bit easier drinking than other German pilsners with a smooth sweetness. I sampled this 500 mL can as Day One [of twenty-four] of the 2018 Christmas Advent Calendar, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 30-September-2018 for US$59,99/twenty-four, sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-December-2018.

Wonderful German Pilsner. This is how a Pilsner should taste - crisp, refreshing and full bodied. Good stuff
