Bottle @ Torben Mathews tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, fruits, flowers, nuts and hops. Nice fruity finish.

Bottle. Pours clear chestnut with medium white head. Aroma is caramel, fudge, biscuits and overripe sweet apples. Taste is medium sweet and medium to very bitter. Body is creamy and a bit dry with faint carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet and bitter with notes of biscuits, sweet apple juice and caramel.

Bottle from the Vineyard, Belfast. Appearance - golden amber with a nice off white head. Nose - marmalade, light caramel. Taste - orange and lime marmalade this time. Palate - light to medium bodied. Tangy middle and finish. Overall - good.

Bottle thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours clear golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of marmalade and candied lemon, light caramel. Taste is sweet, more caramel and marmalade. Sticky finish.

Bottle from the Vineyard, Belfast. Appearance - deep amber to red with a nice fluffy head. Nose - dried orange and general cake notes. Taste - burnt bread, raisins. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - on the edge of being astringent but fine.

On cask at the White Horse, Saintfield. Appearance - amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - toffee and dry biscuits. Taste - toffee more generous this time. A touch of dark chocolate. Figs, maybe. Dry biscuit finish again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture. There’s a dry crunchy finish. Overall - decent example of the style.

Keg halfpint at Fealty’s Bar, Bangor. ABV 4.7%. Deep golden colour, white head. The aroma has moderate malts and decent citrussy hops. The flavour is fairly dry, with distinct citrussy and piney hops, also some dark berries and sufficient malts in the background. Refreshing and good.

Cask halfpint at the Crown, Belfast. ABV 4.5%. Copper colour, off-white head. Malty aroma, some mild roasty notes. The flavour is also malty with fairly distinct roasty notes, also a noticeable hop bitterness in the finish.
