Description
Our beer is being produced from pure raw materials, and in accordance to the German purity law. We mainly use malts from our own production on the estate.
Krenkerup Brewery is the newest addition to the old and distinguished Krenkerup Estate situated in the beautiful Danish countryside, near our local town Sakskoebing. The estate has, since 1367, been passed on from generation to generation without ever being sold, giving the owners family very special and long lasting relations to the local area and the people within it.
The brewery is located in the estate’s old grain storage building with a significant amount of the original structure still preserved. The impressive steel fermentation tanks for beer production, share the space with the building’s 300 year old oak beams. The estate beautifully combines the old buildings with the new and state of the art, top modern brewery.
Krenkerup Brewery produces its top quality beers in accordance to the Bavarian purity law. A production method focusing solely on four ingredients and absolutely no additives, preservatives or added enzymes, colors or sugars. We create quality beer using only water, malt, hops, yeast and nothing else!
Nothing is left to chance with Krenkerup beer; even the water being used in the brewing process is tailored to suit the individual beers. We use the perfect mix of hard and soft water with our various types of quality beers – you can really taste the difference.

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. It pours a clear, dark amber body and a finger-thick, dense, off-white head. The aroma is really ham and sausage like, with umami maltyness and some fruity notes. The flavor is much the same, although less pronounced, especially on the smoke. Some bitterness smoothens it out. Medium body, smoked finish with some bitterness. A pleasant aroma is followed by a boring flavor and a decent finish. Overall, decent, but far from as good as the best. 110523

Bottle. A slow gusher, producing almost no head, just some off-white head. Clear, amber body. Caramel, alcohol, dried fruit notes, maltyness and some cooked vegetables in the aroma. The flavor is pretty much the same, with hints of licorice. Some annoying cooked vegetables, not as evident as in the aroma. A little bitterness too. Full-bodied and warming in the mouth. Bitter and sweet alcoholic finish. Well, far from the best doppelbock I’ve had. 110523

500 ml bottle, from Dagli’brugsen Skødstrup. ABV is 6.5%. Deep reddish brown colour, huge orangey-beige head of good retention. Very nice aroma of spices, Belgian ale yeast, caramel malts and brown kandij sugar. The flavour is moderately malty, not too sweet, with spicy notes, also notes of dark dried fruits and caramel, hints of oak. The mouthfeel could have been fuller, but this is still a remarkably drinkable beer.

Trinkbar. 10/8/7/7/10/7

500 ml bottle, from Dagli’brugsen Skødstrup. ABV is 5.3%. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Large tan head. Pleasant roasty aroma, notes of coffee. The flavour is roasty and quite dry, notes of coffee, hints of liquorice. Fairly light bodied, but nice enough.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a light tan head. The aroma has notes of dusty hops, caramel, malt, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, bread, alcohol, and dusty hops, leading to a dry bready finish, where the alcohol tickles the tongue.

Black with a light brown head. Aroma is lots of roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Soft with a dry and roasted bitter finish. A fairly light stout which has some resemblance to a schwarzbier. Very nice. 200110
