Bottle: Poured a golden off white head. The aroma citrus with some malt. Taste is a bitter wheat with a refreshing flavor.

Bottle Swing-top: Poured a caramel brown with a off white tannish large fluffy head. The aroma has that dark caramel malt but is overwhelmed by the bread like yeast of a weizen. Nice sweet caramel and malt taste with a slight bitter bite.

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a fluffy blond foamy head. Herbal and slightly grassy hoppy nose with a light malty sweetness in the background, also a bit perfumed. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate, slightly crispy mouthfeel. Slightly papery malty taste with herbal accents from the beginning; dry and moderately bitter and a bit short finish. Mediocre German Pilsener (17.03.08).

Huge dirty beige slowly collapsing head over fully hazy (swingtop closing badly) mossy-brown beer. Wood, bananaester & solvent, warm light-roasted malts. Hints at lactic acid & rotting citrusfruit. Sweet, bready, again woody notes in the taste. Citruspeel, if discreet, and a slight wry-ish spicy finish. More banana, restrained wheat but no real acidity. Medium bodied at best, well-carbonated MF, but a bit thinnish in the finish. Oh, how memory and changes in flavourperception play strange tricks upon us. This very beer drew me, near 20 years ago into German Weizens, especially Dunkels , and made me drive miles out of the way, to get it on our festival. Now it is just another Dunkelweizen - neither really boring, neither really exceptional.

(swing top bottle) Cloudy, amber colour with a huge and persistent off-white foamy head. Sweet and sourish, almost tart fruity (citrus, green banana) aroma, slightly yeasty with a moderate wheat-character, slightly toasted on a clovy background. Sour-sweet flavour, light bodied with a lively carbonation. Toasty, moderately wheaty taste with citrus-fruity accents; light-sweet, sourish, slightly tart finish with light but rounded notes of caramel in the aftertaste. Works for me.

Flip-top bottle: Deep golden, hazy, bigger fluffy head, slowly diminishing to a small, stable creamy layer; moderate fruity nose: oranges and bananas with some cloves lolling around in the wings, yeasty aromas are not complezely hidden; slightly sweetish flavour, light bodied, soft MF; slick, sweetish-wheaty finish with a illusion of tartness and bitterness. Not bad, but a bit monotonous...............

Bügelverschlußflasche: Light amber coloured, slightly hazy, stable off-white head; honey, sweet-malt and a tinge of toasted malt in the nose; mild sweetish and very light bitter flavour, light bodied, but a bit sticky; mild, sweetish-malty finish. A rather bland and boring stuff......

Schade! Bottle, 4.9%. Nice banana aroma. Cloudy dark orange colour. Stable creamy white head. Good, spicy banana flavour. A bit sweet with a little fishy smokyness. Appropriately high carbonation.
