200ml cup as part of a delivery from the Japan Centre in London and drunk at home. Clear and flat. Acidic, medicinal and fairly boozy aroma. Little bit of berry, savoury herb and aniseed. Taste is indeed quite bitter with not a lot of personality. Dry finish as well. It's okay, not really my sort of sake but it'll do.

25/9/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed. Japan rating #50. Pours clear almost colourless, slightest yellow tint. Aroma of fragrant rice, rice water, hints of caramel and honeydew melon, earthy edge. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, slight carbonation. Nice warming alcohol finish, with a dry and bitter edge. Quite okay.

200ml glass cup from Japan Centre. Clear, very pale yellow colour, no head and aroma of rice, earthy, fruity. Taste is rice, some melon hints, with earthy grassy boozy notes. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dry boozy finish. Quite OK.

180ml bottle as Nihon Sakari Josen Showa Design 15% from Japan Centre. Clear very pale yellow colour, no head and aroma of rice, fruity, booze. Taste is rice, melon, fruity, creamy with some grassy alcohol notes. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry warming boozy finish. Nicely drinkable

[14/10/19] Very pale yellow. Boozy aroma with sweet citrus and some melon, hard spices. Smooth and perhaps not as overtly boozy as expected with soft, almost brioche-like sweetness, less fruit than suggested from the aroma. A breath of alcohol at the end. OK, but seems like its strength is fighting its flavours. [17/10] Drank the balance of this over ice and liked it rather more.

200 ml can. Big spicy nose, lots of ginko-ka, peach citrus, apple. Spicy and rich fruit flavors, apple, pear, apricot, alcohol is felt. Rich full body. This is damn good for a canned sake from the convenient store.
