Nice orange amber colouring, low on visible carbonation, amber blanket head. Nutty, light fruity (peach) and caramel aroma, a pinch ethanol. Metallic bitter notes punch through the flavor, nutty malt, light roasted caramel notes. Oily mouthfeel, long sweet sugary finish, herbal edge.

Amber beer with off white, bubbly head. Disappointingly simple aroma of malt and apples and a metallic note. Alcohol dominates the flavour which is quite sweet. It’s far from the worst Danish 10% beer, but compared to the best barley wines, it’s very disappointing.

A hazy orange beer with a light colored head. The aroma is sweet and alcoholic with some notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet and again dominated by the alcohol, but also with strong notes of over ripe fruit, leading to a dry metallic end - I guess the metal comes from the alcohol. This is a very mainstream Barley Wine - the style can perform so much better than this example, hence I find it boring.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours black and completely opaque with a pretty, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and perhaps a wee whiff of anise from the fennel. Medium body with plenty of roasted malt and some lightly burned, coffeeish notes. Almost no bitterness. A very pleasant light stout. 030306

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a beautiful, clear, dark amber with a rather handsome and tall, off-white head with good retention. Very distinct aromas of fruit and yeast. Full-bodied with notes of caramel malt, yeast and alcohol - and perhaps some diacetyl. Very typical Belgian - but not overly refined. The yeasty esters are a bit too dominant for my liking. 030306

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber with a creamy, white head that leaves some laces. Incredibly fresh and quite refined, almost perfumy aroma - must be the linden flowers. Medium body dominated by pale malts and perhaps a touch of sugar. Hoppy and quite bitter finish. Not a bad beer at all - would’ve been interesting with some more potency. 030306
