Description
In what has become known as the Craft Beer Revolution, the year 1989 stands out as a landmark moment when the Old Dominion Brewing Co. established a brewpub operation in Ashburn, Virginia. The small brewpub quickly became a production brewery that was named one of the Top 50 breweries in the U.S. The brewery cultivated a community, in which many discovered the joy and wonder of craft beer, inspiring many of the company’s brewers to start successful breweries of their own. We soon found ourselves working around the clock to provide our potent potables and gourmet soda up and down the East Coast.

In 2007, Fordham Brewing and Dominion Brewing joined forces. Dominion operations ceased in Virginia in 2009 and the Dominion label was brewed under the Fordham & Dominion Brewing Company name in Delaware.

On tap at the brewpub, RBSG 2006. A reddish beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of berries - especially cowberries, but also light notes of strawberries. The flavor is sweet metalic with a weird note of berries, leading to a dry and slightly bitter end. Not to my liking.

On tap at the brewpub, RBSG 2006. An amber beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet with a light note of hops - in general very light due to the beer being served on nitrogen. The flavor is nicely hoppy with light notes of berries and grapefruit, leading to a slightly bitter end. The mouthfeel is very smooth - again due to the nitrogen.
