Description
We are an independent craft producer of cask and bottle-conditioned beers. Brewing behind the legendary & historic pub, The Talbot at Knightwick in Worcestershire.
The brewery was first opened in 1997 by the Clift family. Annie and Wiz Clift ran The Talbot at Knightwick, Worcestershire while their brother Philip ran the family farm at Lulsley Court nearby. The Clifts had been growing hops since the 19th century and a logical progression of the farm and pub businesses was to brew beer from their own hops to sell in their own pub. In August 1997 the brewery equipment was installed behind the pub and in September 1997 Chris Gooch joined as brewer.

Bottle picked up from Saucy Pears, Worcester, Friday 7th August, consumed at home Sunday 9th August 2015 Pours a lovely orange/gold with a sticky white head, looks great. Not getting the Cascade hops, must have been used sparingly. It’s not bad but it lacks zap, it’s a little stale and cardboardy at the edges. Another one of those beers that I would have probably been happy with 20 years ago, but tastes change and it is a rather dated and at £2.60 a bottle I would have been better forgetting the Worcestershire rate and having a Beavertown can. Gravity poured half-pint at the Stourbridge CAMRA Beer Festival 18th April 2015. Mid amber brown with a sparse head. Hoppy nose with a more balanced malt and hop flavour, mild fruitiness within the flavour: finish like the aroma, hoppy. Decent and easy to drink.
