Defying the odds isn’t just what we do, it’s a part of our DNA. We were founded by a woman in 1867. Lived through two wars. Survived a fire. Overcame the Halifax Explosion. Competed as an independent company against breweries 100 times our size. We haven’t just survived - we’ve thrived. And while others back down, we outlast. Moosehead Breweries Limited is the last major brewery in Canada still owned by Canadians. The brewery is located in Saint John, New Brunswick and operates with values that have been safely guarded by the same family for 148 years. Despite obstacles – devastating fires, Prohibition, the Great Depression, two world wars, obstructive trade barriers, and bruising competition from breweries 100 times its size – Moosehead is one of the most durable and long lasting companies in Canada. Ultimately it has been the Oland family’s passion for beer that has enabled them to be successful over the long term. Bottle 341ml. @ home.Clear light to medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee, syrup. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to duration, and a light cola syrup - peppery finish. Body is light medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090713]

Bottle 341ml. @ home.Clear medium yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, grain, hay, cabbage water, cardboard notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration, flavor has some chlorine notes. Body is medium to light, texture is oily and butter soft, carbonation is soft. [20090707]

Clear golden with a tiny white head. Sweet aroma with malty notes. Flavour was sweet and fruity with malty and caramel notes. Finished mild bitter from the hops.

Bottle, 5.5%. Vinous aroma, papery. Clear yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour is papery, citric, and not very good.

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of straw and a bit of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of grain and malt, leading to a lightly bitter finish. The body is thin. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottle 34,1 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear yellow with a white head. Strange chicory aroma. Medium body, lots of brewing cereal and some sulphur. No real bitternes. Very much a bland Pale Lager. 211009

Bottle at The Great Canadian Pub in Paris. Aroma has fruity hints, some grain, along with a sneaking suspicion of unwashed armpit. Head goes away fast, and looks like any other average lager afterwards. But the flavour is all right, with malts, barley, and many fruit notes with a sweet finish.

12 oz bottle. I imagine a skunk’s arsehole tastes somewhat like this. This is without a doubt one of the worst beers I’ve ever had, and definitely the worst beer I’ve rated since signing up on this website.
