Bottle that we picked up directly from the Bier & Wohlfülhotel today with Marko. Had this Friday 13th February at the Manglham 2nd Winter Tasting listening to Natural Magic - II . Jonas is cooking Pasta Carbonara. Aroma is weird and verging on shocking, thankfully this aroma drifts off after a while, but to explain it's a bit sweaty and dirty, slightly mouldy even, drains? with a hint of citrus. Pours light/mid gold with a slight haze and filmy white head. Taste is far better than expected but still far from a classic beer. Citrus with a little peppery edge, light spice, soft mouthfeel. Score 4.9

Bottle. Golden, mostly clear. Pungent sour farts, wet hay, lemon sweetness, bread. Front heavy, thin, malty sweet oily, bit stale.

I spend one night with my wife in this fairly luxurious hotel/restaurant/brewpub, so I had some time to taste their beers. This one was not my favorite. Tap. Firm, steady head. Drak brown color, opague. Strong cola flavor, coffee, the characteristic creaminess of the breweries’ beers. Caramel on the background. Sweet, even for a dunkel weizen. Low on aroma.

My favorite from Sitterbräu. Only a slightly roasted aroma. Malty and creamy with a roasted flavor, especially in the long aftertaste. Hint of raisin. Dark brown, almost opague. Lovely, rather a-typical dunkles. Has resemblance to an English Porter, but with more body.

On tap at the brewpub. Klare kräftig goldene Farbe, mittelgroße leicht beige schaumkrone. Geruch süß malzig, aromatisch gehopft. Geschmack süß malzig, kräftig hopfig, lange Bitterkeit im Abgang.

Draught @ Landhotel Gut Riedelsbach, Riedelsbach 12, 94089 Neureichenau, Bavaria, Germany.Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, hay, grain, light to moderate hoppy, grass. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, sharp hops, sopay, citrus notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110920]
