(bottle) Hazy, light-amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Fresh aroma of citrus-fruity and slightly woody hops. Moderately bitter flavour with a rounded malty sweetness. Fruity and soft malty base with notes of citrus, licorice and a tinge of caramel; crispy mouthfeel; bitter-sweet and a bit slim finish with a delicate hoppy bite. Balanced and well-crafted Bitter (15.II.09).

500 mL bottle from Market Street Wineshop Downtown Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy light brown color. Large frothy head with good head retention and great lacing. The aroma is bitter noble hops with grainy and nutty notes. Taste is caramel apple, some graininess and a nice level of hoppiness. Medium bodied with strong carbonation. Top notch bitter.
