Description
Since 1707, Fortnum & Mason has been home to extraordinary food, joy-giving things and unforgettable experiences.

Beers brewed by West Berkshire Brewery until 2018. Westerham Brewery took over production sometime during 2019. There appears to be some recipe variance where the same style was produced by both, so these should be listed separately.

As still WFH and I like the stats am adding on historical ticks. Gift from an Estonian relative. Annoyingly I have no record of which Estonian beers she gave me.

Father's Day gift. I was hoping for some Toppling Goliath but there you go. Aroma is a mixture of berries and sewage. Light chestnut. Thin foamy light beige head. Light-medium bitter with a sour edge that then dominates. Underlying malts. ls that intentional? Light bodied. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Not a straight up bitter and the hops do add character even if it does end up watery.

[50cl bottle from Fortnum & Mason.] A bright reddish copper pour with a thin cream head; aroma of raisins with a hint of Christmas spice; malty taste with some caramel; and an earthy finish. Pleasantly Christmasy.

50cl bottle. Finally patience has paid off, and I’ve visited F&M when this is in stock.

Amber with a compact off-white head and light carbonation; aroma of drying hay; soft malty flavour, slightly sweet, with some fruit and burnt caramel adding depth; clean finish with some fresh and zingy English hops. Very nice stuff, if you can get.

50cl bottle. After several visits over the last couple of years, I finally find that they have some beer in stock - but to make it worth my while I find this, as well as the IPA I was hoping to get ....

It pours a bright golden amber with a thick white head, fading to a thin film and leaving some elegant lacing; the aroma is malty, slightly dusty without being stale; the texture is creamy with a rich caramel malt flavour; and some gentle English hops to finish, adding some light spice to the caramel. I’m a fan of WB, and this is definitely one of their better efforts. A solid English bitter.
