Collaboration of La Quince with Hedonis, The Stuyck and Instituto de la Cerveza Artesana, conceived as a "Piña Colada Berliner Weisse", with added pineapple juice and coconut milk... Lacing, stable, medium thick, snow white head over a misty pale straw blonde beer with grass green tinge. Aroma of cold sour yoghurt, feta, sweat, spoiled cucumber, moldy lemons, unripe gooseberries, wakame, raw unripe pineapple perhaps but in this case that could just as well be autosuggestion. Spritzy onset, quenching, softly tart, yoghurty and unripe pineapple-like but no actual pineapple flavour, starfruit, hard unripe pear; wheaty soapiness in the middle, drying lactic tartness persisting, sweetish bready barley peeping through, finishes with a sour lemony touch - probably the pineapple effect, but again, no outspoken pineapple (or recognizable coconut) flavour is to be found. Or nothing even remotely reminiscent of a Piña Colada, for that matter - a missed opportunity I think, though I am left wondering if this cocktail's sweet aromatics would really fit well in a tart and soapy Berliner Weisse... Still, a very interesting and refreshing beer for sure.

17/09/2017 - tasting glass shared with 77ships & tderoeck @Hedonis Ambachtsfest. Milky light yellow with white soapy head. Nose is sweet creamy pineapple and coconut. Taste is soapy pineapple and coconut, sour touch. Very weird indeed but interesting.

Thank you for sharing tderoeck & Bierridder_S. Sampled draft @ Hedonis Ambachtsfest 2017. What a concept, Piña colada Berliner Weisse. Pale milky pale yellow, big soapy white head. Nose is weird massive soap, sweet candy, grainy. Taste is really far out vaguely sour coconut milk cream, oddly soapy, pineapple candy but massive, massive coconut milk cream all the way,… Coconut milk, soapy body. Weird, partially there, not sure how I would feel about drinking a lot of this.

17/IX/17 - on tap @ Hedonis Ambachtsfest (Gent) - BB: n/a (2017-1515) Thanks to 77ships and Bierridder_S for sharing today's beers!
Pretty cloudy pale yellowish beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: yeast, weird, very herbal, bit plastic, floral touch. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: soft acidity, bit malty, grains, lemon zest, lime juice, little fruity. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, some citrus and lime, hint of lactobacillus, coconut touch, nice stuff.

Pours clesr, dark amber to brown. Small white head. Smell is sweet, caramel, bit earthy. Taste is bit dry, sweet, very mild fruityness. Rather thin body for the style. Agreeable boozyness. Ok. More to the la trpe style quad

Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is yoghurty (especially when it warms up, the sorachi really shows ) taste is bit bitter, full on hoppy aroms, mainly sorachi, it is a hop that overpowers very fast, as is proven here once again, 9 hops were used, only one can be tasted. Apparently belgian yeast was used (no vermont yeast) leaving the new england appelation only for the fact it’s not filtered ?

Pours black, decent and rather stable white head. Smell is intense, roast, cocoa, bit boozy. Taste is mild on vanilla, strong boozy undertone, ruining much of the taste, cocoa, but more like burnt cocos. The strong sharp boozyness ( fusel alcohol , i suppose ? ) too bad, as the underlying beer seems pretty good nevertheless.

Pours peachy pink, smalll white head. Smell is dry, minor saltyness, some fruity aspect. Taste is decently dry, salty , very mild fruityness. I miss the nice malty ending a gose usually tends to have for me.

Pours unclear blonde, smal White head. Smell is strange, green and herbal. Almost soapy by the strawberry. Taste is full, bit sweet, harshness from the colliding dryness by the saison yeast, and rhe swetness by both fruit and lactose. This blend simply doesnt work for me... not bad, just... not working
