Description
The Dortmunder Union Brewery (DUB) was established in 1873, the first brewmaster was Fritz Brinkhoff (1848-1927), who worked 50 years for the brewery. In 1887, a failed brew was delivered to a customer in Aachen which was a huge success. The Dortmunder Export was born.

In 1994, the Union Brewery took over the Dortmund Ritter Brewery, established in 1889, and renamed itself the Dortmund Union Ritter Brewery. Production was relocated from the city center to the previous production facility of the Ritter brewery on the outskirts in Lütgendortmund. In 2002 the Union-Ritter-Brauerei was renamed the Brinkhoff Brewery, and in 2006 production was relocated to the Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei.

thanks, kim for sharing. clear light yelow, white head. aroma is sort of sweet and a little hoppy. flavor is sweet, cererally and slightly bitter in a weird way.

33 cL bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours clear and golden yellow with a white head. Light grassy and bitterhops aroma. Sweet malty, slight cornish note. Light bitter and medium sweet malty flavoured. Bitter and slight caramel malty finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a fully gone head. Mild cornish and malty aroma. Light bitter and cornish flavoured. Mild bitter into the finish. Sweet cornish too.

bottle. Clear pale yellow, big head. Medium-bodied, faint hints of hopyand malt. Good hoppy aroma, which is not present in the flavour.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Very dry aroma. The beer doesn’t taste dry, but very mild. Can say nothing negativ about this beer.

Herb-süßer Antrunk bei mittlerer Intensität. Im Mittelteil scheinen sich alle Aromen zu einem Brei zu vermischen, außer einer gewissen Getreidigkeit lassen sich die Aromen hier kaum auseinanderhalten. Etwas muffiger und mittelhopfiger Abgang. Massenexport, dass sich nicht von anderen abhebt. Test vom 12.2.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,6,7,5,5,5 - 5,85
