Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Cloudy straw coloured with a thin white head; a fresh ginger aroma; refreshing in the mouth with ginger and citrus; pleasantly bitter finish with more warming ginger. Great if you are in to ginger, and much better than the Shakemantle Ginger Ale that also features in the JDW Festival.

Bottle, 28-01-08 Thanks to my dad for picking this one up for me Light golden coloured beer with very good clarity and nice white head. aroma a little citrusy, tasted of sweet malts and fruit but little else, save for the occasional flurry of honey maybe.

Cask gravity at Kent BF, Canterbury. Very deep ruby colour, with disappearing tan head. Sour, sour vinegar/old ale aroma. Surprisingly good in mouth and the choc rescues it, then lovely espresso coffee on finish. Terrible aroma, but rest is good. Funnily enough someone else had it 2 days later and it was a lot better.

Cask handpull at Thomas Rigby, Liverpool. Pale chestnut colour with lasting beige head. Bit of sickly malt on aroma, but mostly rich strawberry/raspberry and malt aroma. Full in mouth with more strawberry, morphs into creamy hop finish. Hop is balancing and shows some lemon acids to do battle with the rich malt. Rich and hoppy premium bitter and rather stunning.
