Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours lemon yellow with minimal off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is basically citrus with some hints of grains mixed in. In the mouth it is sharp with citrus prominent plus lemon and grapefruit and trsces of melon andmango leading to a dry and sticky finish. Not my find of beer at all.

Cask at Bull & Stirrup, Chester. Pours golden amber with a small scummy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly fudge and toffee mixed with the expected malts. In the mouth it starts off sweet with toffee to the fore again. However, some underlying bitterness soon comes through and this increases to become dominant. Flavour has floral hops and traces of orange and ginger. Bitterness lasts into the finish. I’m not too keen on Beartown beers, but this is decent.
