Description
Folkingebrew was founded with the aim of brewing beer that we like to drink ourselves. That is why we make beers with a distinct character in taste, aroma and color.
Because of our passion for good beer, we try to get a little better with every beer and push our boundaries.
Folkinge, the first part of our name, refers to the location where we started brewing: in the 'backyard' of a beer shop on the Folkingestraat in Groningen. Brew refers to the American craft beer culture, where we get our inspiration.
Between 2018-2025 client brewer, became a brewery in 2025 but the large batches, which are canned, are still brewed at Baxbier.

0,44 l can from Wijnalda, Haren. Looks like orange Juice with an one finger white head in the glass. Intensive tropical fruity smell. Taste starts also with a strong dose of tropical fruity, sweet, combined with hop bitterness. Alcoholic. No easy drinker the 0,44 l can is a challenge.

Bit of a greyish tint but nothing serious. Tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus, pretty boozy. Finishes bitter, nice.

Blik thuis geprobeerd met Roelzie. Het is een troebel geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een fruitige geur met tonen van meloen en mango. De smaak is vol, fruitig, tropical en bitter in de afdronk.

Straight from can during an afternoon hike, on the 'Ginkelse Heide'. Color: Most probably hazy golden, wbite head? Aroma: Hoppy, very fruity. Mango and tropical fruit. Taste: Once again hoppy and fruity. Mango, tropical fruit, some subtle orange peel notes, light hints of white grape. Malty, bit grainy background. Medium body, average carbonation. A little bit different from most nowaday NEIPA's I've had the last time, in my opinion. Less wheat malt, less smooth. Which doesn't mean it's less or better, just somewhat different. Ok.

CD 09/06. Hazy yellow, bit of white head. Smells a bit dry, a bit bitter, and quite fruity. Pithy citrus, bit of mango. Decent body, bit of a bite. Taste is nicely balanced, has some light sweetness and a lovely end bitter. Plenty citrus, hint of mango.
