Description
Folkingebrew was founded with the aim of brewing beer that we like to drink ourselves. That is why we make beers with a distinct character in taste, aroma and color.
Because of our passion for good beer, we try to get a little better with every beer and push our boundaries.
Folkinge, the first part of our name, refers to the location where we started brewing: in the 'backyard' of a beer shop on the Folkingestraat in Groningen. Brew refers to the American craft beer culture, where we get our inspiration.
Between 2018-2025 client brewer, became a brewery in 2025 but the large batches, which are canned, are still brewed at Baxbier.

14/6/20: BAM! Another hop monster of a Folkinge, and maybe my favourite one yet. Great use of Citra, with a huge amount of fruityness coming from it. Soft tropical flavours, some candied lemon, and the tiny drop of lactose only accentuates that. Beautiful.
5/9/20: Was curious to see how this would hold up over time, now just over 3 months old. Smells very fruity still, hint of lactose. Mouthfeel is soft, with some good carbonation cutting through. Taste is sweet, fruity. Pineapple, peach, hint of citrus. Definitely less fruity, and a bit rougher. Some bitterness at the back. Still a damn good beer, 4/5. No rating cause it did go down with age

Lekker fris citrus aroma, iets aan de zoete lactose kant, wat scherp, citrus, maar prima spul zeg.

Crowler can. Murky, grey-ish, dark orangey colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Intense piney, resinous, slightly grassy, fruity and citrusy, hoppy aroma, notes of kiwi fruit, gooseberry, white grapes, hints of coniferes, pineapple, some lime, oaty malty background. Taste is dry, piney, grassy, resinous and slightly citrusy fruity hoppy, notes of kiwi fruit, hints of gooseberry, white grapes, a touch of lime, papery, oaty malty basis, well hidden alcohol. Creamy to mushy texture, smooth and soft palate. Not fully convincing. Too papery, not overly fruity, and - though not overly important - off-putting colour.

Pucha 5 maja. Gesty, intensywy, raczej slodki soczek z jasnych owocow z nalecialosciami cytrusow. Bez hopburna, bez drapania, z lekkim granulatowym i kwaskowatym posmakiem. Sups jest

Canned about 1 month ago. Pours a murky yellow golden colour and a frothy white head with some retention. Aroma's of juicy hops, dank, resinous. Retronasal it's more dank than juicy, light sweet. Flavour is light sweet , juicy, light moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Moderate hopburn. Light moderate bitter finish. Definitely one of the best NE(D)IPA's from the Netherlands so far, but still not quite Trillium/Treehouse/Other Half/Cloudwater.

CD 23/03. Woo, finally the new one. Nice, hazy yellow, little bit of white foam. Smells fruity, bit grapey. Smooth mouthfeel, maybe could be a tad thicker. Taste is damn good, excellent fruityness, subtle bitter in the back. Grapes, citrus, mango. So soft.

44 cl. can @ home, bought online @ Dorst Craft Beer Shop. Dutch brewery #342. Hazy dark yellow with a small white head. Tropical fruit aroma, mainly mango and pineapple, with some citrus and pine as well. Taste is bittersweet with a long, I mean a really long, as in an hour later I could still taste the hops, hopbitter finish. Fantastic hazy IIPA. Now i'm obliged to drink the rest of the Folkingbrew line-up as well.
