Ascension brewing co. began it's journey august of 2015. we are a small microbrewery specializing in locally brewed craft ales and food. the beer and food offerings are constantly rotating so come into the taproom to see what is available today!

In our taproom, we believe using high quality, fresh ingredients in our food is the best way to enjoy our beer. Our staff are experts in making beer and food recommendations and pairings. They are knowledgeable and passionate about our beer, and aim to produce an outstanding customer experience with great attention to detail!
Outside the taproom, we are a group of compassionate, motivated, talented, and diverse individuals. Although we come from many walks of life, we all unite under Ascension's roof with the goal of elevating the craft beer scene, first in the greater Detroit region, then in our world

Bottle shared at Your Old Droog Cellar Blast. Thanks to whoever brought this. Pours a dark brown to pitch black with a small bit of brown head that dissipates. Big maple syrup aromas with dark chocolate and molasses aromas. Palate is similar with some coconut as it warms. Rye whiskey rounds out the sweetness of the adjuncts with a peppery note at the finish. A bit thin overall, but flavors are there.

2021 Vintage draft at Ascension. Pours a deep brown to pitch black with a finger of beige head that lingers. Big time bourbon aromas with oak and vanilla next to milk and dark chocolate aromas. Palate is similar...a bit thin, but ABV hidden well. Balanced finish with bourbon, chocolate, molasses and oak.

Draft at Ascension. Pours an opaque and hazy yellow gold with a finger of fluffy foam that lingers. Nice tropical fruit focused nose with papaya, melon and citrus. Palate is similar, with some mild hop burn. Balanced finish that leans dry. Very nice.

Draft at Ascension. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Lovely rice and crackery malt aromas. Palate is similar with some mineral and earthy hop aromas alongside some blackcurrant and gooseberry notes. Peppery, dry finish.

Draft at Ascension. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of fluffy, white foam. Classic saison nose with nice yeast aromas with notes of banana, clove and coriander. Some citrus zest and and earthy notes as it warms. Palate is similar. Balanced finish.

Can from Ascension shared at Black Out Friday. Pitch black with a small tan head that dissipates. Sticky marshmallow, milk and dark chocolate with bourbon and oak all present. Palate is very similar with a fairly sticky marshmallow, chocolate and bourbon note on the finish.

Draft at Ascension. Pours a clear, pale straw color with a small head. Light citrus aromas with some noble hop notes. Clean with good carbonation. A bit light and easy drinking.

Draft at Ascension. Pours a hazy straw gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Slight green aromas with citrus and notes of papaya. A bit green on the palate...drying finish.
