Description
The Féculerie farm, erected from the 14th to the middle of the 18th century, in Jandrain-Jandrenouille has been transformed into a brewery since the summer of 2007. Born in 2006, from the infatuation of two university comrades, the original equipment came from the berry brewery. Currently, Alexandre Dumont de Chassart continues the solo project and works to increase the capacity of the brewery as well as the development of new products.

27 February 2019. At Kantien, Ghent. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours clear golden-orange with a lasting, small, foamy, white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of yeast, pepper, mandarin peel, yellow bell pepper, grass, freshly cut onion, apricot, straw. Taste is light fruity sweet, notes of apple peel, apricot & unripe banana on top of a yeasty & bready malty base; medium grassy bitter middle has straw, spices, floral edge, with sourish accents of lime & mandarin. Dryish, floral, bit resinous hoppy finish, lingering straw, yeast, subtle warming gin alcohol. Medium body, slick-oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Rather 'classic' but with a deft hoppy touch.

Good off-white head, stable, over clear reddish-shot golden beer. Toasted grains, cornflakes and non-USA(!?)hops. Whiff of iodine, estery. Bitterish-dry flavour, there's hops but again in a very unusual way for J-J. Toasted grains, wholemeal bread, even a bit of oxydized grains. Warming up, it becomes a tad (too) sweet. Quite slick, medium bodied. Hiding its ABV. Strange, unusual (in many ways) tripel, certainly for J-J. What remains typical is the balanced, almost flawless execution.

0,33 l bottle. Pours hazy golden with medium frothy off white medium lasting head and some yeast floating. Aroma is floral and grassy, dough, some straw, slightly peppery and some malt in the background. Taste is low sweet and medium bitter, quite dry. Body is medium, slick mouthfeel and carbonation average. Finish is quite long mellow bitter straw like flavor persists for a while. I miss more farmhouse like stuff, but still a very nice beer.
