The Big Hunt, DC tap ($6): Note: I just added this beer and I accidentally didn’t alter the title to Oliver ALes MP3, so that is what I am rating at the moment. Anyway, it pours a light orange color with a head that leaves lacing for quite a bit. Aroma is mostly citrus. Hop bitterness is present throughout and there is a weird yeast flavor that appears around the middle of each quaff. Has a finish of citrusy hops as well. Not great, but a strange little beer.

Location: Cask at Churchkey, 6/12/11
Aroma: The aroma has some booziness to it, along with malts, fruit, hops, and wood
Appearance: It pours into the glass a clear bronze pour, witha small head to it
Flavor: The flavor is fairly balanced, moderately sweet, moderately hops, and a little boozy
Palate: The body is medium-full, it is sort of dry, and it had more warmth to it than I expected
Overall Impression: Rating # 1775, another arbitraty milestone I found it necessary to point out! This is pretty balanced stuff, though it is a touch on the boozy side. I didn't get much sorachi, but there's some, hops come through in the later palate, nonexistant upfront, not bad, but not great.

On cask at Churchkey. Pours a clear, light orange with a frothty, lacing white head. Mild, fruity aroma, lightly herbal, light lemon. Flavor is nice, noble hops, lemon, lightly vegetal, light cracker, light bread. Medium bodied, dry, bitter finish. Nice session beer.

What a pleasant surprise to find this one at Meridian Pint. Extremely dark brown color, tan head, great lacing. Aroma of pumpernickel and black bread. Taste is slightly sweet with some roasted malts. Medium to light body. Needs a bit more body and complexity, but overall tasty and easy to drink.

A "northern European lunch beer?" Is that anew style? Is it OK that I drink it at dinner time? This one was full bodied, had an aroma of smoky nuts, and tasted like burnt caramel and light spice. Nice.

Cask at Churchkey. Poured a medium, dark brown color, small off-white head (though quite dark in there so it was hard to really peg). Notes of chocolate and a tinge of smoke (good). Flavor was touch of roasted malts, with notes of chocolate, touch of smoke.
