A deep copper ale with a thin off white head. A pleasant cinnamon and nutmeg aroma. In mouth, a spiced sweetish malt with candy sugar, cinnamon and nutty roasted notes. Very nice. On tap at Wharf Rat on Pratt, Dec. 28 2008.

Ungstrup (52110) reviewed Biere de Garde from Oliver Brewing Co. 19 years ago
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5
A hazy red beer with a lazing beige head - doesn’t really look like the Biere de Garde’s I’ve had from France. The aroma is sweet with light notes of berries - it is served very cold, so not that much aroma appears. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of berries, but also a light note of butterscotch, leading to a bitter end with notes of berries. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky.
