Tap at Beach Muffin. Beautiful chocolate colored brown with a finger of beige foam that lingers throughout. Big grassy, hash-forward nose that just gets more and more dank as it warms. Espresso notes alongside a light yeast character in the background. Cookie malts with a tad of honey as it warms. Some chocolate chip cookie dough sweetness and brownie fudge after about 20 minutes. Nice dry cacao finish with more weed. Very solid and unique take on a dark saison. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ace of Space on 24 Apr 2016 at 17:37 - Score: 8. Original review text: Dank nose that is endless. Light fruit, weed and chocolate on the palate. Chocolate chip cookie dough. Sweet, but dry finish. So good!

Tap at Beach Muffin. Cloudy brown with a latte colored head that lasts throughout. Big funky nose with zesty kinkan pulp and some light brett notes. Some milk chocolate as it warms. Average carbonation on the palate. Amazingly light for the abv. Zesty tartness and funky brett on the finish. Just wow. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kinkan Porter Brett on 24 Apr 2016 at 15:38 - Score: 8. Original review text: Jesus Christ. Funky, tart zesty with a touch of chocolate. Oh my.

Yorocco Saison 4% Bottle hand delivered by my buddy Davido. A lovely orange-copper color with a fizzy white head of foam that leaves some filmy lacing behind. The aroma is very nice giving notes of dusty wheat, white pepper, pears and fruits.  It’s got a med-full body and a round carbonation that starts off round but ends with a prickliness to it. The flavor is more rustic than the aroma but still delivers a good balance between the malts and a fruity earthy yeast funkiness. A really nice take on a lower ABV saison.

Medium brown color. Lots of brownies, molasses and coffee notes. Medium body with chocolate malts really shining and mild sweetness. Rounded. Decent stuff.

Hazy golden color. Frothy white head, very funky yeast driven nose with some modest hoppiness. Mouth is dry but over attenuated, hoppy with lots of funk. Long lingering yeasty finish with moderate bitterness. Good but not Orval level and still could be fine tuned

Tap at Tadg’s. Slightly funky, Belgian-like nose, citrus, cocoa, coffee. Black with a low head. Tart citrus flavor, a bit funky, cocoa and coffee. Dry and tart with a clean finish. Very interesting and original porter.

Tap. Bright cloudy gold with a low, fine head. Yeasty nose, bread and biscuit, lots of black pepper. Lemony, peppery flavor, light to medium phenols, biscuits. Tingly and soft carbonation which works very well with the peppery spiciness and bitterness to give a great tingly finish.

Tap at Tadg’s. Great juicy fruit nose of nectarine, oranges, apricot, light spice from the yeast, crisp, crackery malt. Cloudy, deep gold with a tall, fine head. Juicy, hoppy flavor, apricots, oranges, some light biscuit, restrained spicy yeast character. Reminds me of De la Senne or a Westy Blonde with American hops. Amazing.

20 month brett version. Nose comes off a bit like a Flemish Red. Caramel, cherry, light funk, a bit of vinegar. Cloudy light red color with lace. Soft, low carbonation, nicely tart, winey, brett is light be noticeable. Hibiscus is very light by now. Interesting, mildly funky beer.

Tap at Tadg’s. Huge burst of juicy dry hopping: lemon, grass, herbs, resiny pot. Clean malt. Cloudy gold, bright and glowing, with a low, fine head. Silky, low but persistent, prickly carbonation. Clean, crisp malts, smooth body where you get the oats. Fantastic IPA. Probably the best in Japan at the moment.
