Crosse Keys Spoons. Dark red brown beer, almost opaque. Good pale tan head. Minerals. Light dry palate. Super mild dark malt, touch of coffee. Whisper of fruits. Dry finish. Overall a fresh and fruity mild.

Bottle at the Union Tavern, London during the ELB event. Pours deep brown with a fine, tan foam head. Very light sweetness, some burnt toast, faint ashy roasted malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. NIce balance though very light overall - not altogether unexpected for a mild. Finishes with light dry burnt toast and more mellow ash. Fine.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham - 02/03/13. Clear dark chestnut brown with a thin beige head that retains well. Nose is caramel, biscuit, dark malts, light fruit notes. Taste comprises caramel, orange, light grapefruit, hops, mineral notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Decent stuff.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium to dark brown colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121208]

Cask at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that retains well. Nose is light roast malt, oats, barley, touch of chocolate, a little subdued overall. Taste comprises chocolate, oats - porridge with melted Dairy Milk to be precise, liqourice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, fairly smooth on the palate, dry finish.
