Fresh 16 oz. can from Binny's. Light straw color, minimal bubbles after building a big fluffy head. It's main deal seems to be the American cultivars of noble hops, and some extra malts. The results is a nice German beer nose, but not a big IPA smell. The taste starts with a fresh German beer character, then there's a spicy note from the wheat-derived malts. Maltiness tends more to the dry side. A slightly spicy, dry lager that is markedly different from other commercial beers.

Draft at Orange & Brew, Black Friday. My small taster actually shows some cloudy brown. Thin ring of foam. Taste had light cocoa. I'm a little surprised to find some chile here, like maybe this has the remainder of my previous Temperance in the glass? Still more cocoa from the barrel than the vanilla.

Draft at Neat Kitchen & Bar, Westmont, IL. Nice amber to brown color, with a short but stiff eggshell head. Toast, caramel, maybe some treacle in the malt nose. Rich caramel malt taste cuts through the usual chilled glass. Seems like some both sharp European and some earthy English hop. Enjoyable as a fall beer, including post-Oktoberfest.

Can, from Trader Joe's Chicago. Pours hazy dark yellow-amber with a small foamy light beige head, citrus peel aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter orange peel taste with pineapple flavor, thin smooth body, long citrus peel finish. Well balanced, smooth and easy to drink.

Small draft. Expected hazy yellow. Light spicy hefe nose. Taste goes straight down the standard for this style. Toasty malt with a bit of clove. Don't catch the banana some hefes get, which is fine by me. Catching a slight bit of bubblegum, not excessive. And a tickle of German hop as a go with.

Big, cheesy, awkward old school first gen American sour style sour. Brett and funky tones are there, big sweet tart. Mess of a beer overall, more.just an experiment, lacks direction.

Tap at Pollyanna. Not that good. Artificial gross watermelon flavor. Not that tasty at all.

Listed as a Vienna on the menu. Deep pretzel amber malt example of the style. Relatively full bodied for the moderate ABV. Rich caramel/Munich malt tone. Solid.

Can, from a Jewel Osco in Chicago. Pours cloudy rich lemon yellow with a foamy off-white small head, faint citrus aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter sharp citrus peel taste with pineapple, thin body, long citrusy finish. Decent NEIPA dominated by citrus peel taste.
