Description

33cl bottle as 'Valkenburg Valkeberg Rosa', obtained from the Jumbo supermarket in Valkenburg. Poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass at home on 20th November 2025. I am having a slow tasting session with myself while Margie is out with old school friends, Bertie is watching me. First pour is a just a huge very pale pink head of tight bubbles, very little liquid in my glass, bubbles receding, beer level rising as I write. Less than half the beer has left the bottle so far, should have used my Judas glass! Beer appears to be slightly hazed and a dull amber colour, maybe a red hue. Fairly harsh for an Irish/Italian Red, it's more yeasty and fruity in nature. No roses in the aroma or taste from my bottle. Finding it a little difficult to finish actually.

33cl bottle as Valkenburg Valkeberg Bier, obtained from the Jumbo supermarket in Valkenburg. Poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass at home on 20th November 2025. Second beer while Margie is out drinking with school friends, Bertie is watching me. Billowing snow white head on a clean and clear golden body, second pour brings sediment into the glass and we now have a cloudy, dull golden body. Yeasty and semi bitter in nature, liked the cleaner feel to the initial pour, but the second addition has upped the oomph and depth of flavour, so what do I know? Ended up tasting like a Belgian Blonde rather than a Pilsner.

Donker roodbruin bier met weinig schuim.
Aroma en smaak van whisky.
De alkohol-smaak blijft even hangen.

Fles gedeeld met Inoven en LiekevdV. Het is een troebel donker roodbruin bier. Helaas plat.... Het aroma is zoet, fruitig en Bourbon achtig. De smaak is fruitig, vanille, houtig en Bourbon achtig.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Brownish color, small off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, cognac, boozy, a bit sweetish, yet with a slight alcohol bitter finish. Solid, yet a little less balanced than the bourbon BA quads I've just tried.
