Bottle. A dark, dark brown beer topped by a dense, beige head. Roasted, light chocolatey aroma with some dried fruits and a touch of salty licorice. All too weak. Soft on the palate, a bit thin, but pleasant and easy drinkable. Roasted, almost burnt flavor with prunes and some licorice. Roasted finish with some bitterness, mostly of the roasted kind, not the hoppy, but it’s hoppy too. In my opinion, a pleasant beer, but I think it’s too boring. Rating: 5-4-6-3-12-3.0. 120326
Bottle. An almost clear one, dark brown in color and with a finger-thick, dense, beige head. Roasted aroma with some dark chocolate and coffee grit. Hints of dried fruits. The flavor too is on the roasted side, semi-dry, with dark bitter chocolate, coffee notes and some prune hints in the far back. A pleasant bitterness too. Pleasant carbonation, medium body. Lasting roasted finish with some hoppy flavors and bitterness. A nice one indeed, and it sure has improved since the last time I had it. 140623

Bottle. A clear one, brown in color, with a reddish tint. Finger-thick, light beige head. Nice roasted aroma with some coffee and a touch of chocolate. Some hops as well. The flavor balances the hops and roasted malts very nice, with a solid dose of chocolate. Roasted malts and coffee too. Some bitterness chimes in towards the end. Medium body, quite dry, with a bit too less carbonation, but that makes it easier to drink. Overall, a nice beer indeed, especially considering it’s a store strenght brown ale. 120326

Bottle. A clear, dark amber colored beer with a small, off-white head that lasts. The aroma has a pleasant roasted touch, with caramel, or maybe rather toffee, and a balancing citrusy, flowery touch. The flavor is balanced and smooth, not intense in any way, with lightly roasted maltyness, borderline coffee, and resiny hintes and some lemon peel. Medium to full body, dry and softly carbonated. Roasted finish. A tasteful beer that I bet would be nice with some BBQ. 120326

Bottle. Clear,. dark golden in color and with a minimal sized off-white head. The aroma is nicely fruity and piney, orange peel, some resins and a touch of maltyness. Medium body, soft on the palate, could maybe use more carbonation. Some bitterness in the flavor, but not much. Fruity, tropical, lightly resiny flavor, both initially and in the end. Sure a beer I could drink a lot of all summer. Well, all year actually. Rating: 6-4-6-4-13-3.3. 120326
Bottle, bought at the brewpub. It pours a hazy, unclear, golden-orange body under a dense, finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. The aroma is really hoppy, with peaches, grapefruit, some pine cones and a little maltyness. The flavor has a nice bitterness, overpowering the malty sweetness. Pine cones, citrus peel and some resins and tropical fruits. It’s full bodied and a bit heavy on the carbonation, feeling quite dry in the mouth. Lasting bitter and fruity finish with a wee metallic touch in the very end. Liked this one the first time I had it, now it’s even better. Refreshing, tasteful and moreish. 140622

Bottle. It pours a more or less clear body, dark golden in color and with a dense, fingerthick off-white head that lasts. The aroma has a light caramel maltyness, along with some pale malts, flowery and lightly citrusy hops. Grassy hints. Soft on the palate, a bit thin, even though it’s a store strength beer. Flowers, grass hints, some tropical fruits and a malty backdrop. Short finish. An easy drinkable beer one could drink a few of. 120326
