Pilot Batch #3 Belgian Tripel from Stone & Wood Brewing Co

On tap at Stone & Wood, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast upfront, along with crackery malt. Flavour is quite dry for a non-Belgian tripel, with Belgian yeast, mild candied sugar, and biscuity malt. Just a touch of sweetness. Fairly complex and well-made. Very good.

On tap at Stone & Wood, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out light stone fruits, such as apricots, with biscuity malt and light floral hopping. Flavour is along the same lines, with stone fruits and floral hops. Clean and fresh, but uninteresting.

On tap at Stone & Wood, pours a hazy amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma is light, with berries and biscuity malt. Flavour is subtle, with very light red berries and English malt. Not a whole lot going on here, but it's clean and drinkable.

Tap, Flinders. Cloudy amber with a small but lasting white head. Mild aroma of bred, citrus, weeds. Light bodied but not watery. Gently bready and fruity with some biscuit, vague citrus. Dry with a bitter herbal/ weedy finish. In the Cooper’s tradition for me, not that that’s a bad thing. A good quaffer.
