10th May 2013
Light haze on this amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and fairly dry. Mild carbonation. Dark toffee malt, a little spice. Nice touches of tangy red wine and light barrel induced vanilla. Finishes semi dry with a little more spice that goes on in to the aftertaste. Comes together very well indeed but could perhaps do with a little aging.

Bottle (July 2013) thanks to Ratman! Pours with a clear copper hued body and a massive, lasting, rocky white head. Funky aromas with waxy Brett, damp leaves, wine tannins and vanillins, lactones, oak, tannic raspberry seeds, floral notes. Low malt. Flavors of dry, earthy and leathery with light diacetyl and a young Brett character. Light malt tannic extraction. Mild fruit (raspberry), fully fermented and tannic, damp leaves, light toasted barrel. Not bad but confused at this point. Light brown sugar and suntan lotion. Very, very lively carbonation, low body.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a lightly cloudy orange appearance with an off white head. Somewhat spicy, big oaky, light veggie, peach/apricot, tropical fruity, vanilla, light DMS aroma. More DMS comes through in the flavor along with a bunch of oak, vanilla, light butter, apricot, tangy flavor. I was looking forward to this but it ended up being a messy, unpleasant experience. Low boost because I do not drink so much

12oz bottle picked up at Supermarket Liquors on CO
Pours hazy dark brown with a small beige head and some lacing. Aroma is woody, grapes, vanilla and bourbon. Flavors of woody/oak, vanilla, sweet caramel, finishes with grapes and dry
Very nice, it got better as it warmed up. Can’t believe this is 12%, well hidden.
