Description
We, Sharp’s Brewery, are a modern brewer of cask and bottled beer based in Rock, Cornwall, and owner of the UK’s number one cask and bottled beer, Doom Bar. We’ve grown rapidly to become the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West.

Sharp's Brewery was founded in 1994 by Bill Sharp. The brewery has been through three phases – from a small micro brewery, to a larger facility within the same building and finally to the current phase that has seen the Brewery extend its premises to accommodate more vessels and increase its brewing capacity. Since 2011, the brewery has been owned by Molson Coors.

1/3 pint, hand-pulled cask. Circular edge surrounding the surface of a clear, copper-brown body. Vague malty to the nose. Soft malt-fruity taste. Sweet and dry palate, almost without compensating bitterness. Rather simple (GBBF, 09.08.2008).

Cask, hand-pulled at Sharps Brewery Bar. Moderate start on the last day at GBBF 08. Appealing, clear golden body supported by a thin, bubbly white top. Smooth floral smell. Fruity-hopped taste with satisfying hop bitterness to the end. Rounded palate. Summer feeling (09.08.2008).

Clear copper colour, mid-sized creamy beige head. Intensive aroma of roasetd malt and caramel. Light-bodied, flavours of caramel and roasted malt, caramalty flavours with a shy fruityness in the background as well as some lovely resiny-lemony hop flavours.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Kidlington, Oxon, had this in field at Towersey Festival, Oxon, w/e 20th-25th August 08 Pours warm golden, quite tangy and citrussy with honey in there. Bitterness quite impressive, but not that much wheat, little herbally on nose, its ok.

330ml bottle from Sainsburys. Slightly hazy amber colour with a slight white head. Honeyed aroma. Flavour was sweet, with a touch of marmalade, dollops of honey and some indeterminate spice, and remained so to the finish. Not particularly memorable.

[handpump at The Retreat, Reading] Very pale for a bitter, with a small lasting creamy head. Mouthfeel is creamy, almost like something nitrokegged. There is not a lot of flavour, although it tastes pleasant and well balanced enough - some honey sweetness initially, a hint of citrus and then a dusty hop bitterness following through. Overall impression was bland and watery, although very easy to drink - obviously designed as a session beer. A little disappointing compared to other Sharp’s beers I’ve tried. c3

Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a deep dark amber colour with a white head. Aroma was fragrant hop and honey, very nice. Flavour was similar, sweetish with added malt and plum. Soft and quite subtle this was very pleasant indeed.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Clear amber color. Aroma is quite hoppy with some fruits. Sweetish malty flavor at first with light fruitiness, finishes a light hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied. Decent.
