Cask at The Harp, Covent Garden/Charing Cross. Opaque amber. Thin foamy white head. Aroma has citrus but it's musty. Some sweetness. Some spice. Some onion. Flavourwise it' has an initial delicate citrisy sweetness followed by a Light-medium bitter resinous streak. A sugary element. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-flat carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Easy drinking but hardly riveting.

Impressed by this. Lovely balanced roasted malt character, supple dark fruits, a little chocolate, soft earthy bitterness, a few raisins. Smooth, velvety. Great depth. Rich. Mighty drinkable.

[Cask at the Nags Head, Reading.] A straw coloured pour with a tight white head; aroma of ripe peaches; taste to match with a velvety smoothness; then a slowly building piney bitterness that brings some warming spices to the belly. Excellent.
