Keg at Beer Hawk, Charterhouse, 07/05/19. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is tangy cherries, dried fruits, light charr, berry fruits. Taste comprises modest roast, light cocoa sprinkle, cherry cough drops, tarte cherry skins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering climax. Ok offering but little porter qualities offered here ... much more a sour.

Nose is lemon tinged straw, tangerine, light hop load, melon Taste comprises tangerines, chalky mineral whisper, lemon rind, airy malts, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with moderate hop bitterness. Passable pale ... a little lacklustre.

On tap at Goose Island Shoreditch. black beer thin tan head. sour cherry no doubt almost almond too then some dark chocolate. cake like. a bit like a cherry tummocks tea cake. sour cherry finish. dark cherries. I liked it. intense.

On tap at Goose Island Shoreditch. hazy amber brown colour lasting beige head. Yeast character up front some esters some malt. some spicy hops on finish. yep decent enough. hides and well.

On tap at Goose Island Shoreditch. Clear amber brown colour thin head. light bitterness but still some hop. ok malty flavour. decent light mild. somewhere between a light mild and a session bitter ok.

Keg at the brewpub. Pours black, nose is liquorice, caramel, ice cream, taste is sweet, caramel, roasted, chocolate, light vanilla. No idea if this was barrel aged, or a base version.
