From the barrel. It pours jet black with a thick, foamy tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, vanilla, cake frosting, creamy, chocolate cake, coffee and fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, vanilla, toffee, oak, bourbon, chocolate cake, powdery chocolate and light tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Plenty of flavour. Fun stuff.

Keg at Goose Island. It pours dark ruby to black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is toasty, roasted malt, coffee grounds, wood, coffee, chocolate cake. The taste is dry, bitter, hard roasted malt, charry, cocoa, chocolate cake, toasty spice, peppery, light tannin and burnt wood with a dry, roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. We rounded. Nice.

Keg at GI, Shoreditch. It pours clear deep mahogany brown with a small beige head. The aroma is festive spice, warming, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, donuts, leather, fruit cake and wood. The taste is dry, bitter, festive spice, toothy, woody, leather, vanilla, cinnamon, chai spice, cinnamon and some alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent stuff.

Keg at GI Shoreditch. It pours clear golden with a small white head. The aroma is wet herbal vibes, coriander, toasty grain, cereal, lactic and orange peel. The taste is crisp, lightly tart, lactic, herbal, toasty grain, wet grassy and some citrus peel with a dry finish. Light to medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded brown malts, brown sugars, dried fruit, hint of orange rind, some cakey malts. Palate is semi sweet light airy carbonation. Authentic.

Flavour is composed of rounded biscuity toffee malts, chewy pine, jammy fruits, orange rind. Rounded sticky hops. Palate is chewy, rounded, moderate carbonation. Good.

Palate is crisp, highish carbonation semi drying finish . Flavour is composed of dried citrus, lemon, chalky, white grape, lemon rind. Good.
