Description
Established since 2002, Blindmans Brewery can be found at Talbot Farm in Somerset amongst the cows. The brewery is a five barrel plant in a converted Milking Parlour. The brewery is fairly unique in having its own exclusive water spring which is carefully quality controlled, guaranteeing consistency. All ingredients are procured locally wherever possible, with malt supplied by Warminster Maltings, traditionally germinated on open floors in a process spanning centuries.

500ml bottle form Beers of Europe. Hazy golden pour, thin white head. Aromas of honey and lemon, Lockets, basically. Taste is the same. If I had a bad cough, I’d want to drink this to think I was making it better. As it stands, I’m in good health, and this is a lemony honey-like beer. It’s OK.

50cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden (well, duh!), with gentle carbonation and a head that disappears quite quickly. Nose - honey, malt with a hint of lemon lozenges. Taste - lemon barley water with a spoonful of honey mixed in. Palate - close to medium bodied with a fairly rich texture and a thin watery finish. Overall - it’s alright but wouldn’t buy another.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Lightly hazy amber pour, good lasting head. Some butterscotch on the nose, stewed apples and red fruit, toffee. Taste has more apple-sweetness. Good texture and body for the strength. OK.

Cask, half at Bow Bar. Clear mahogany coloured body, shiny surface, dotted spots to the glassware. Inviting aroma of caramel malts and herbal hops. Malt-fruity taste with a little tartness to it.. Bitter ending. Medium bodied. Satisfying (pub crawl in central Edinburgh with mr_h, 09.08.2013).

Cask @ Diggers, Edinburgh [220613]
Blonde, clear with a thin dense white head. Aroma - vague light soft fruits, almost nothing on the nose. Overall flavour rather bland, just some soft pale fruit, bit of apricot and lemon, soft sweet pale malts, inoffensive but boring. Light to medium body, bit oily with some slight bitterness. Finish is a bit dry. I have no idea where the sting is in this. Easy drinking golden ale.
