Description
The Garden Cider Company was created in 2010 by Ben and Will Filby The idea is simple, we make a range of hand crafted premium ciders sourced entirely from local, donated garden apples.

Each year we have over 4000 local households who bring us their spare garden fruit and in return receive a share of the cider made back for free. We are proud to take an abundant, largely wasted natural resource and turn it into sustainable, ethical and quality products.

500ml bottle from Orchard Box. Pours a golden colour with a foamy white head that dissipates away. Plum and ginger nose. Taste is fruity plum, juicy apple, sweetish, with some light ginger notes. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, lingering sweet finish. Quite OK.

Box @ Leeds Station Wetherspoon, Leeds. Pale golden-yellow coloured. Has a light tasting texture despite its strength. There’s some dry apple notes in both aroma and taste.

Box @ Shrewsbury Hotel. Pours clear yellow, aroma of worn bandages. Taste is sour, tangy, bandages with off-putting bitter core. Awful. Really couldn’t manage another sip.

Bag in Box at the George, Croydon. It pours clear pale straw coloured with no head. The aroma is earthy, musty, funk, oak, apple skin, underlying sweetness and barnyard. The taste is dry, tart, white grape, gooseberry, bit of alcohol, white wine and some acidity with a dry, tart finish. Medium bodied and still. A touch harsh perhaps, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottle at JF’s, 20/04/13. Pale yellow with no head. Nose is apple, sugar, light wood, touch of acid. Taste comprises light orchard fruits, apples, not too sweet. Medium bodied with a dryish finish. Ok cider but lacked depth, I don’t have a particularly sweet tooth so the lack of sweetness in this one suited me.
