Description
The Garden Cider Company was created in 2010 by Ben and Will Filby The idea is simple, we make a range of hand crafted premium ciders sourced entirely from local, donated garden apples.
Each year we have over 4000 local households who bring us their spare garden fruit and in return receive a share of the cider made back for free. We are proud to take an abundant, largely wasted natural resource and turn it into sustainable, ethical and quality products.

On the day in history I'm drinking this beer, in 1702, the first official census of modern times took place in Iceland. From that original to this one by Garden Cider, which although has an underlying apple flavour is quite bland with it, although crisp at the same time. Pale yellow .

500ml bottle. Pale gold, scattered bubbly retention. Fruity aroma with a strong note of ginger spice. Taste is fruity with a nice balance between apple and plum, a touch dry, a touch funky. Ginger extract ranges from foreground to background depending on the sip which is odd. Nice cider, I don't find the ginger element too strong, in fact I would rather it deliver more heat.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear gold, brief fizzy head, high looking carbonation. Aroma of barnyard funk, tangy apples, hint of elderflower. Flavouring is more notable in the taste which is quite floral with a tangy apple and funk background. Syrupy mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Not a big fan of elderflower but this is quite well made.

500ml bottle. Pale gold, brief fizzy head. Aroma of sweet and tart apple, some orchard funk, citrusy hop. Thats pretty much how it plays in flavour. A surprising but good level of citrus and floral hops in the finish. Semi-dry. Light bodied as expected for a 4%. Quite tasty.

500ml bottle. Clear pale pink, brief fizzy head. Aroma of sweet confectionary strawberry. Taste is sweet and tart, strawberry element is a bit artifical in note, dry finish. Its ok.

500ml bottle. Clear pale pinkish red, brief fizzy head. Sweet strawberry and blueberry on the nose. There is more to the flavour though with the berry notes contrasting with a dry tangy apple, quite sweet. Oily body, moderate carbonation.

500ml bottle @ 4% from Beers of Europe. Pale clear pink hued pour with brief white foam. Aroma of raspberry jam, tangy rhubarb, a fusty apple in the background. Taste is jam doughnut without the sugar coating, mild tangy tart rhubarb, not much apple in the background to compliment. Light bodied, light-oily, refreshing. Quite tasty.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear gold pour with brief fizzy head, mild looking carbonation. Aroma is quite floral but there is a fruity apple, apple skin and slight orchard funk. It's quite dry, light syrupy, brief spritz, tart apples, tannins, acidic. Its ok.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a deep clear purple with a fizzy off-white head which dissipates to a circular collection of bubbles. Aroma is as advertised with a fruity berry and more deep cherry notes. Taste is very sweet and tart with cherries dominating over berries, big marzipan flavour, somewhat syrupy, hint of apple. Its certainly flavourful. Maybe the balance between apple and other fruit is not quite balanced but it is tasty, if a little over-sweetened.
