Description
Initiated by 3 young graduates, the Ninkasi was born from a simple idea: to implant the concept of American micro-breweries in France. This project was completed in 1997 and takes place in Lyon, on the Gerland site. In 2012, the factory moved 50km from Lyon, to Tarare more precisely (1 avenue Edouard Herriot). The new playground for our brewers has a capacity of 5,000 liters per brew (i.e. 23,000 HL / year). In 2023, Ninkasi moved to its new brewery, still in Tarare.
Note: The original Gerland location closed for works until 2027.

This has a very heavy taste for a pilsener, and on top of this a little too much body.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity, light yeasty and slight caramelish. Mild sour and wineous. Sweet, malty and caramelish. Light sour and winoues note. Light liqourice and mild fruity. Fruity and sweet finish. Clearly develops over time. Starts liqourice and goes into a dark Flemish Brown with age. Lovely further down the road.

Draft. a hazy yellow beer with a thine white head. The aroma has strong notes of wheat and citrus fruits. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of mango combined with light notes of wheat and lemons lending it a bit of acidity that makes it somewhat tart. A bit like a Berliner Weisse with mango would taste I suppose.
