aroma is sort of damp cloth like, perhaps deep sweet herbal or perhaps slightly sulphuric, bit like a flat old beer that managed not to go sour but just flat malty no hops weird. the faint hibiscus only makes it worse. flavor is hibiscus, buttery feeling, malts, herbal hoppy note. I can't believe the insects is the only thing making this taste fairly bad. it's a boring beer overall , clearly one of the worst i've tasted that claimed to be an APA.

Can 44 cl. Pours a hazy, orangey red with a small and creamy, off-white head. Slight berry-like aroma from the hibiscus, a hint of butter as well? Medium body, chalky and floury and again a faint berry note. VERY distinct cricket notes, nah....just kiddin'. I wouldn't know what to look for. Subdued bitterness. Drinkable, but nothing to seek out, unless you just have to try a cricket/hibiscus beer. 050824

Can. An unclear dark brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is rather sweetish, with lactose and maple. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and some alcohol. It's full bodied, sweet and lightly cloying on the palate, nicely carbonated, and with a decent bitterness. Sweetness prevails though. The flavor has some coconut in addition to the sweetness found in the aroma. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of dark dried fruit. Lasting sweet finish. Too sweetish this one. 240430

Can. An unclear dark brown one, topped by a small beige head. The aroma is roasted and lightly burnt, with some oats, coffee, vanilla and coconut. It's full bodied, lightly warming and nicely carbonated, semi sweet and with a decent bitterness. The flavor has roasted malts, coffee, licorice, some dark dried fruit and alcohol. Hints of coconut and lactose. Lasting finish. Finally a lactose brew that isn't all about the cloying sweetness. 240430
