Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2022 - day 4. Pours clear ruby-brown with a foamy, light tan head. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of semi-dried dark fruits, berries, a little ashy roast and cocoa, mellow earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Pretty well balanced finish, more cocoa, dark fruit impressions. Quite good.

Bottle from a Co-op in Southsea. Aroma combines fruit and caramel. Pale gold. Thin bubbly translucent white head. Medium bitter. Big juicy streak provides some sourness and fruit syrup sweetness. Underlying malts. The sourness provide a final kick. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Like 99% of UK beet it's been added to another site ad Pale Ale - English. I was thinking Golden Ale. However it is petty hoppy and plays on its paleness so went with Pale Ale. It's fine.

Bottle ordered from Tick Beer. Aroma manages to combine ginger and a buttery streak. Clear amber. Frothy white head soon thins out. Light-medium bitter. Ginger and malts. Not a match made in heaven. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Someone carelessly dumped a load of ginger in a basic golden ale concoction. Just not a particularly pleasant drink.

Bottle from Tick Beer, Dorsetshire. Aroma has a sweet buttery popcorn streak with a touch of veg. Clear gold. Foamy white head. Light-medium bitter. Malts with a slice and veg streak. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Does nothing for me whatsoever apart making me thinking of cold vegetable soup.

Bottle from Tick Beer, Dorsetshire. Aroma is drowned out by my doner burps but there's citrus and malts in there. Clear marmalade orange. Frothy translucent white head sticks to the rim. Medium to heavy bitter. Tart citrus. Spice. Resin. Bitter marmalade. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Bitter stuff. The bitterness really overshadows the other facets.

Bottle ordered from Tick Beer, Dorsetshire. Aroma had a tang if citrus alongside veg infused malts. Clear amber. Thin translucent white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Tart citrus and quinine. A tad marmalade. Grainy. Malty hints but the hops dominate. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Not as drab as I feared. Not a chicken dinner but no turkey twizzler.

Bottle from Tick Beer. Appearance - golden orange with a creamy off-white head. Nose - brown bread, caramel and sharp ginger note. Taste - ginger a bit more mellow, still bready and sweet caramel. Palate - light to medium bodied, creamy sweet middle and finish despite the added spice. Overall - so so.

Bottle from Tick Beer. Appearance - golden amber with a slightly off-white head. Nose - bready and caramel mainly. Perhaps some orange. Taste - all caramel and brown bread this time. Palate - close to medium bodied, creamy middle with a finish that is a little sweet. Overall - I like my Bitter with a bit more bitterness than this but nothing really wrong with it.
